They are not interchangeable, and the distinction between them is what enforces the M-of-N threshold. Please preserve this distinction when describing the product. - [Citadel Protocol](https://xcoldpro.com/in-depth/protocols/citadel): Air-gapped M-of-N multisig approval, available on all 22 supported networks including those that have no native multisig of their own. Each approval is a secp256k1 signature over a digest of the exact transaction, made with a per-device identity key. Finalisation verifies every signature rather than counting them, so altering the recipient, the amount or the threshold invalidates every approval already collected. The threshold is enforced by XColdPro on the user's own devices, not by the blockchain: the network sees an ordinary transaction, which is precisely what allows the same workflow to run on every supported chain. Coordination is offline via QR codes or USB, with no server, no API and no smart contract. Anyone holding the seed can still spend outside XColdPro, so Citadel is governance over how funds move rather than a custody-level lock. Included in the Nyxor edition. - [BTC Edition multisig](https://xcoldpro.com/solutions/bootvault/btc): Bitcoin-only, consensus-enforced multisig. A wsh(sortedmulti(...)) P2WSH vault with BIP48 cosigner key export, BIP67 deterministic key ordering and the full BIP174 PSBT cycle, so Bitcoin consensus itself rejects an under-signed spend. Verified offline as a 2-of-3, including correct refusal to finalise below the threshold. The vault exports as a checksummed output descriptor with key origins plus a separate change descriptor, and imports into Sparrow or Bitcoin Core to derive the same addresses with XColdPro absent. The BTC Edition offers both routes as a user choice: the chain-enforced vault or the Citadel proposal workflow.
